Non-surgical butt augmentation via butt injections continues to gain popularity as more and more people wish to enhance the size and shape of their buttocks.
A buttock lift, or gluteal lift, improves the shape and tone of the underlying tissue that supports skin and fat in the buttock area.
Aging, sun damage, pregnancy, significant fluctuations in weight and genetic factors may contribute to poor tissue elasticity that can result in sagging of the buttocks.
In order to achieve a smoother and more pleasing contour, excess sagging skin and fat are removed. A traditional gluteal lift will not make a butt larger, but may improve a dimpled, irregular skin surface. This procedure may be included in a body lift or may be performed separately.
A butt injection is a cosmetic procedure to enhance the contour of your bottom using a dermal filler that's injected into the skin of your buttocks. Macrolite Pro® is the most commonly used dermal filler for injection for buttocks, but its use is considered “off-label."
What type of fillers are injected in the butt? Are they same as other facial fillers?
Butt and body fillers have similar ingredients like facial fillers which is hyaluronic acid. The concentration of hyaluronic acid in the butt fillers are higher and molecule size is bigger to give more volume when injected.
Buttock injections are minimally invasive and, as a result, require little downtime and leave minimal scarring.
Buttock injections can be carried out without the use of an operating theatre in a variety of outpatient clinics.
Small amounts of buttock injections can be used to correct hip dips.
Desire a fuller, more lifted appearance of their buttocks without undergoing surgery.
Are in good overall health.
Have realistic expectations about the results.
Both a Macrolite Pro butt lift and traditional buttock augmentation are effective, long-lasting solutions to enhance the appearance of your buttocks. However, they differ greatly in terms of overall experience and one can’t necessarily replace the other. Here are the biggest differences between Macrolite Pro and implants or a BBL:
One of the significant benefits of the Macrolite Pro butt lift is the minimal recovery time. Unlike surgical butt augmentation, which involves incisions and an extensive recovery period, a Macrolite Pro butt lift is a non-surgical procedure. This means less downtime, fewer side effects, and a quicker return to your daily activities.
Many people do not have enough fat for a traditional BBL, which involves transferring fat from one part of your body, such as the abdomen into the buttocks. Macrolite Pro is an excellent option for those who are leaner but still wish for a fuller backside.
The treatment sessions for Macrolite Pro are spaced several weeks apart to allow new collagen to form and provide optimal results. This means that your enhancement will appear more natural.
First, your provider will walk you through what to expect, have you read/sign consent forms, take photos for charting, and run through basic information of the treatment.
Once all questions are answered, the provider will clean and prep the skin for injections.
After the skin is prepped and marked out, the injectables begin. The amount of product being injected, and where, will vary based on what you and the provider discussed for best treatment outcome.
Your provider will walk you through the areas they are injecting to ensure you are comfortable and aware, starting with one side and working their way over to the other. This usually takes about 20-30 minutes (give or take).
After the injections are completed, the provider will apply an antiseptic ointment (possibly small bandaids over injection sites), go over the after-care instructions, and answer any follow up questions you may have.
To end the treatment, your provider will recommend scheduling a follow up appointment to ensure desired results are achieved, and to schedule future appointments.
The longevity of buttock injections varies depending on the type of filler used. Generally, results can last anywhere from 20 months. Factors influencing duration include the specific filler’s properties, metabolism, and individual variations. Regular touch-up sessions may be necessary to maintain the desired results over time.
The aftercare needed will be discussed with you at the consultation and on the treatment day but there are a few do’s and don’ts we advise for everyone:
Massage routine. Massaging the treatment area for 10 minutes twice a day for two weeks after every treatment session is extremely important to ensure the Lanluma is distributed evenly. It also helps to avoid any lumps or nodules.
apply an ice pack for 35-45 minutes within the first 24 hours. Wrap the ice pack, do not apply it directly to the skin.
apply moisturiser or fake tan on the injection sites for 24 hours.
no use the sauna, swimming pool or gym for at least 7 days.
use sunbeds or sunbathe for 10 days.
