Do you use dermal fillers in the frown lines between the eyebrows?

Wrinkles usually start as fine lines and become visible indentations as you age. The decrease in collagen and gravity tends to make your skin loose and saggy.

One of the most prominent features of your face is the eyebrows, and the space between the eyebrows conveys facial expressions.

Known as glabella, the area between the eyebrows tends to show deeper lines as you age, causing wrinkles.

Once this phase begins, you will notice that the changes gather speed and may lead to facial skin getting loose too soon.

Frown lines are one of the most common areas on the face for injectables. Sometimes after muscle-relaxing  injections, the lines are still there and require fillers.

Frown line filler is an advanced technique.

When a frown line is being assessed, an important factor to look for is: Is the frown line or fold etched in at rest (ie when the patient is frowning).

If the frown line/ fold is etched in at rest, then if the patient wants a completely smooth area between the brows, then muscle relaxing injections won’t be enough to give that result. Dermal filler will also be required for the frown line.

What are Glabellar Lines and What Causes Them?

Glabellar Lines Dermax Filler

Glabellar lines are parallel wrinkles that rest between the brows. They’re sometimes called “elevens” or “11 lines” because these vertical lines look like an “11.”

Glabellar lines are also known as frown lines because they’re connected to the action of frowning.

Glabellar lines are what dermatologists and plastic surgeons call dynamic wrinkles, which means they occur due to dynamic (constant) motion.

It’s normal for people to move their facial muscles throughout the day as they eat, drink, and make facial expressions.

But certain muscle activity will create temporary lines on the face and, over time, temporary lines can turn into permanent wrinkles.

Glabellar lines are caused by repeatedly furrowing the brow. When you frown, scowl, or furrow your brows for any other reason (like when concentrating), your face creates these “11” lines on your glabella, which is the skin over your forehead and between your eyebrows.

When you’re younger, your skin will bounce back after furrowing the brow and look smooth once the brow is relaxed. However, as we age and our skin starts to lose firmness and elasticity, these lines can start to become more permanent.

Sun damage can speed up this process, which is why sunscreen is such an important part of one’s skin care routine.

When glabellar lines first start to appear when the face is at rest, they can be faint and hard to notice. But with continued repetitive motion (and continued collagen and elastin loss due to aging and sun exposure), these fine lines will start to deepen and become more noticeable.

Wrinkles between the eyebrows

Crow’s feet are mostly the first wrinkles to appear, wrinkles between the eyebrows are the second. It happens because the habit of frowning is very common among men and women of different ages.

When we wrinkle the skin on the bridge of the nose, we even do not think that it increases the tension in the muscles, which later, from a tiny line between the eyebrows, will turn into a deep crease – one of the most difficult to erase.

Unfortunately, people very rarely care about this area, paying more attention to their eyes, lips, and forehead. And once these wrinkles appear, they wonder why their face looks so sad and serious. Everything is due to the single wrinkle between the eyebrows. But there is always a solution.

Treating Frown Lines Is Easy

When frown lines appear ‘etched-in,’ we often recommend dermal fillers and Botulinum Toxin  as the best course of treatment, for their ability to, as the name suggests, fill in the furrows.

The best treatment for deep frown lines is often frown line injections, something that we offer here at Metropolitan Skin Clinic.

When administered by a qualified medical practitioner, these Botulinum Toxin and filler injections can help visibly reduce the appearance of frown lines while still enabling facial movements to ensure you aren’t “frozen” looking.

Most patients begin to see results from Botulinum Toxin within 5-7 days with maximum efficacy appearing roughly two weeks after the procedure.

When it comes to filler for frown lines, this is a more permanent and lasting option with results lasting anywhere from 9 to 12 months depending on how quickly your body metabolizes the product. The filler is injected underneath your skin to fill the frown lines and add more volume to this area.

How Is Glabella Filling Made?

Before applying glabella fillers, the area is examined in detail. How much injection will be made in which part is determined. After applying the cream with numbing properties, the selected toxin is injected into the relevant area with very thin and small needles.

You will not feel any pain during the application. Only during the insertion of the needles a feeling similar to a fly bite occurs. In this respect, glabella filler application is a painless procedure.

Frown Line Filler: How It Works And Its Pros

Hyaluronic Acid

Fillers are an alternative non-invasive procedure for Frown Line that can help to restore facial volume and reduce the appearance of wrinkles with a quick recovery process.

This method is often used to soften static wrinkles in the forehead and brow area, as well as provide an overall lifting effect. Additionally, fillers offer facial sculpting benefits, allowing you to add definition and structure to areas such as cheeks or temples.

By adding fullness to these areas, you can achieve a more balanced facial appearance with fewer signs of aging.

Unlike other procedures, non-invasive fillers can render immediate results with minimal downtime. Best of all, they also provide long-lasting results compared to Botulinum Toxin , which may last up to 6 months.
